We spent a few days in July at RESACON – the annual conference for professional stagers, followed by the Las Vegas Market. We were hunting for new inventory to bring an updated look to our staging projects. What we found in terms of trends was a back-to-the future focus on warm earth tones, textures, and designs.
These aren’t your grandma’s earth tones of harvest gold, avocado green, and orange. It’s a range of warm neutral tones that look great with black, gray, blues and greens. For people who didn’t jump on the gray, black, and white trend that has been pervasive in farmhouse décor, this is welcome relief.
As you might expect with earth tone colors, there is also a lot of beautiful texture – woven wall hangings, pillows, and rugs. Fabrics range from fluffy boucle to warm velvet in a range of beautiful tones. Green has emerged in a big way this year and it ranges from bright greens in some design genres to deep olive green.
Upholstered furniture has been hot for the past few years, and it remains hot in these new tones, but we also saw a lot of natural wood in warmer tones and new shapes. Overall, the shapes feel more organic and solid, with generous-sized chairs and sofas. It has a cozy, relaxing vibe that really is perfect for Fall.
Check out some of our photos below. We have beautiful new inventory just in for your staging projects and if you’re looking for just the right piece for your home or office, let’s look at our to-the-trade vendors for pieces you won’t find yet in stores.
I can’t wait to share my photos and trend update on Biophilic Design.
